Christmas time with the In Laws

how many of you are divorced or widowed .. Do you still see the in Laws or have you broken ties .. IF you see the in-laws during the holiday season is there somewhat tension in the air , Or do they treat you as if you was stil part of the extended family?
I have been widowed for 6 years .. Its difficult for me to go to family functions , only because I know they wasn't there for my husband when he needed them... Christmas is the only function I attend , only because my will be there . I see my the night before xmas But used ot seeing my both days ..

So how do you handle the holidays even thou you are not with your ex either because of divorce , or death ..

 Don't know how i would handle that situation because I'm not in the situation but I know I will always support u as a friend
