sexting-fun or waste of time?

I have tried sexting a couple times, but I'm wondering if I just don't understand it or am I being scammed by guys pretending to be women?

I have done posts on other websites and have had several sexting opportunities. My issue is that after the first exchange, that's where it ends. We swap pics and/or videos and have very arousing chat. Afterwards, I never hear from her again. Is this a normal thing or am I just being scammed by guys pretending to be women?

If you have any experience in this I would really like to know what you think about this.
