I Adore You

When I thought about writing this poem
You inspired me
Every time I dream about you
You desire me

But it is only in my dreams
In real life, I adore you
On days that I don’t see you
I become sad and wish for you

I wish to know more about you
Our words interchange and intertwine
As if we were two halves of the same person
Severed form the middle of the spine

When I hear your voice over the phone
It comforts me when I am alone
I remember you peaked my interested at first glance
Now I lay down wondering, do we have a chance

To hold each other again
To walk hand in hand and arm in arm
But every time I see this vision
It is interrupted by my alarm

It seems that your name occupies my breathe
The image of your face relaxes my mind
A smile that is so pretty
You are beauty ‒ defined
