My friend, please read my words and hear them. I am not looking to cause you pain, though this path that I have chosen for us has. I know that it is difficult at this time, but please trust that I know what I am doing and where I am taking us.
There are things that we both need to work on, and our previous relationship is not the best place for this work to occur. We are after different things, have different goals, yet, if you believe and trust, we can help each other reach these dreams and change our relationship into one of support, love, trust and friendship.

What I've learned in my 30 years:
1. Life is meant to be lived in each moment, not waiting for moments. 2. If it's meant to be, it will be. 3. Life's too short to worry about the small things. 4. There is no such thing as distance. 5. Education occurs daily. 6. What you were taught about the world as a is false. It's a much uglier place. 7. External beauty is not as important as internal beauty. 8. Family is not just based on blood. 9. There is not enough love in the world. 10. Interact with people the way you would like to be interacted with. 11. Smile, it's not that bad. 12. People are scared of the unknown. 13. The right path isn't necessarily the easiest. 14. Age is just a number. It doesn't imply a certain level of maturity or responsbility. 15. That I have a lot more to learn.

My friend and I were talking about getting older, how satisfied we were with the goals we had accomplished at this stage in life, whether we thought we were missing anything from our lives, etc.
We started talking about wine and somehow started comparing aging to wine.
Like wine, we get better with age. We ripen, develop a more sophisticated taste, appreciate in value....

Heirloom tomatoes....

I had lunch at a favorite sandwich shop of mine; I don't even have to tell them what I want anymore. It's gotten to the point where I walk in and they ask, "The usual?". I love places like this! Not only that, but I get the "special" veggies, those only people in the know get. Makes for a very delicious sandwich.
Anyways, today, I got a pleasant suprise, heirloom tomatoes from the backyard of the proprietors and they even gave me one to take home. Oh the wonderfulness of it all.
Happy Friday all.

in the wonderful company of some close friends. To be specific, I was in Newport Beach. The weather was very nice, not too hot, maybe a little. We spent a lot of time outside, wandering, talking, enjoying ourselves and the time we had to spend.
We drove down PCH and checked out the gorgeous homes, the quaint little towns, the beautiful people that live in this part of CA.
We ate grubbing vegan food at Native Foods. We snacked our way through Mother's Market. We drank Crown and 7's, way too much beer and smoked more then our fair share.
We were gluttonous. And it was fun.

So instead of Napa, I've decided to save some $$$ and tour a local winery instead. I think we're going to take in the Boony Doons Winery in the Santa Cruz mountains. Since it's closer, more $$$ can be spent on me, since it is my birthday and all.
Also, if anyone's in the San Jose area on Wednesday, 8.17.05, we're throwing down at a bar called Johnny V's in Downtown San Jose. Everyone is more then welcome to come on through.

So, anyone have suggestions for things to do, places to see, wine to drink in Napa? I will be celebrating my 30th with some friends up there and I have never been.
So, please post your fav's.
Thanks.
