(Some folks have complained lately about the tabloid trend blogs have taken. You can gripe about this or just laughingly go with the flow.)
What man wouldnt want to have Brad Pitts problems. Even if his life is like that famous Heineken commercial, so what?! Hes handsome: regarded as one of the top leading men in the Western world. Women swoon at the thought of him, let alone a personal appearance. Women on this website profess if you are like Brad Pitt, come on over. NOW! Hes rich. And he gets to decide between two beautiful actresses.
Of course, some are angry that he gave up on his marriage. Even though Jennifer Aniston is the successful Americas Sweetheart type of star, would you ever lust after her like you would after Angelina Jolie? Not that he needs defending, but heres the Top Ten Letterman-style defense for Mr. Pitt.
Top Ten Reasons to Lust After Angelina Jolie
10. The woman is outspoken: you have to admire her for speaking her mind. 9. The woman has talent: see her in Girl Interrupted. 8. Her caring nature: she adopted a and is working with the U.N. on refugee issues. 7. Her intense eyes: she knows how to give a sexy look. 6. Her bountiful breasts: the woman fills out a gown or a swimsuit the right way. 5. Her beautiful over-all shape: the woman has curves in all the right spots. 4. Those bee-stung lips: wouldnt you love to kiss and suck on those! 3. The woman has passion: note the vial of blood with Billy Bob. 2. Wouldnt you want to be the man to break Angelinas long sexual fast? (More than a year longsee No. 1.) 1. Wild Sex! (See todays reports from the tabloid Sky News about Angelinas loud moaning!)

Imagine the well-known comedian/talk show host giving one of his ranting monologues with all the smirking, mugging, and satirical eye-movement.
Have you heard about this online service called Senior Sizzle? Sure you’ve heard about internet dating sites. Well, this is internet dating taken to the next level. If you read the ads for this service, this is practically guaranteed sexual contact via the internet. This is better than internet porn: it’s the real thing.
Well, for men this is something we’ve been waiting our whole lives to see. It sounds like hooking up is as easy as ordering kung pao chicken from your favorite Chinese takeout. Can’t you just see it: “I’ll have the full pussy meal to go please, and a side of huge tits too.” Unbelievable.
So I signed up. I know. I know. I’ve got a wife and . But this was just research. (He winks and smirks here.) That’s what all the guys say when they get caught right: I was just researching this problem for personal growth.
I don’t want to get off on a rant, but…. This virtual takeout sex idea isn’t all it's cracked up to be.
(The remaining rant will conclude inside.)

Reporting Courtesans & Pornbots

A confluence of e-mail inspired me to write a preface to this topic. I have promised/threatened to write something longer later.
One of the local courtesans who frequents the site sent me an e-mail yesterday. Then today one of my platonic female friends wrote me that she was surprised to hear that prostitutes trolled Senior Sizzle. (She suggested that perhaps that was why guys are always offering to pay her on this site as a way to convince her to go to bed with them. Some of us are easily confused, I suppose.)
Not only are prostitutes here but spam artists using fake profiles use the site to get e-mail addresses for a variety of scams including just wanting to push horny males to their pornography or dating sites.
I have had mixed results reporting these problems. Some profiles have come down, but I still see many of the problem profiles on the search engine daily. Some men report that they are successful at getting these problem profiles pulled (and they say they even get program points for doing it!). I can't report the same results. (Nor the same rewards!)
For new men on the site, I do think there is a public service to warning them about these scams. (And if they want to find courtesans on the internet, that is easy to do. They don't need to come here.) My question is: should handles be used in posting and outing some of these folks?
For awhile my philosophy was report the pornbots and leave the courtesans alone. Live and let live. Now, I'm not too sure. So I'm looking for advice before I put up a more detailed post.
(Also, before posting this, I have yet again sent a note to the Senior Sizzle authorities about the problem profiles. I'll wait to see what happens before putting up my detailed post.)

For those not in my network, any tips on how you communicate with your network? Do they work? Any good stories about networks?
For network members, I hope you'll say "hello" and say something about your favorite sexual topic. Thanks for posting.

The Early Stages of Man on Senior Sizzle

(To the kind folks who keep asking what my experience has been like here so far, this is an abbreviated diary.)
Hadean Era "The Sound of Silence" There is much scurrying about and looking around. That in the candy store feeling is in your gut when you first get here. Looking at pictures (and profiles if you are more than a standard member.) Soon you are shooting e-mails everywhere. No one bothers to reply. No one looks at your profile.
Archaean Era "Invasion of the Pornbots" Eventually you discover some of your early choices were unwise. Those who are here to send you spam or get you to buy services from other sites descend on your inbox. This is when you discover how to report problems to technical assistance.
Proterozoic Era "The Age of Discovery" You find that the website is more than pictures, profiles and e-mail. You start reading the blogs and magazine section. You read (and maybe post, if you are brave) in the discussion boards. You swim through some chat rooms. Mostly people still ignore you or treat you as the newbie that you are here.
Cambrian Era "Network Failure" You discover the nifty network feature. ("Aaahh, a way to communicate with those elusive standard members," you think to yourself.) You start inviting folks. Lo and behold, a few join your network. When folks join, you get very excited. (Early in the process I had no declines, which made it even more exciting.) Then you discover those folks will never talk to you again. Back to the drawing board.
(The remaining stages will be listed inside.)

Here we are, as far back in blogtime as you can travel in this blog. The time stamp may read April 4, 2005, but really this is being written and posted on Jan. 6, 2006.
How is that possible? By their nature, blogs are linear objects. They start in one time/space and flow along like rivers until they reach the present. Or so you think.
Those who inhabit BlogLand may gripe and complain about the glitches here but as the old Chinese saying goes “Amidst calamity lies opportunity.” Those glitches have created time pockets woven into the fabric of the blog. Certainly, newer software now allows blog authors to erase these older entries but they can be useful.
The best way to really experience this time travel would be to go back to the main front page of this blog. Then go to the bottom of the page and find all the numbered pages. Click to the second to last page on that counter, or sometimes the very last page, then look for this entry again.
Now, look around at the landscape. Here we are back in time. This post is squeezed in between the blog index (another great use for those old entry pockets) on the one side and [post 10894] on the other. (Of course, you can click on that link instead of viewing the entire string of old posts if you want to jump around.) And doesn’t that bring back memories. (Nothing like having a few great fantasies!) This of course changes the linear nature of the blog.

I'm lucky enough to have at least one platonic female friend here. She is too nice/shy to write about this topic. However, she sent me a message this week very distressed about some of her experiences on Senior Sizzle.
Her problem relates to overly blunt messages.
Now, I have written before about the strange population of prudes who populate part of this site, but she is not one of those. No, she is the real deal. She has met people here. She has testimonials. She loves sex. And she is here to find more.
But as she asked me, this week: Whatever happened to the preliminaries? What happened to wanting to have a conversation first? What happened to wining and dining a woman before trying to move to the next level? Would it be so wrong, she asked, if a woman wanted to go out with a man for coffee or drinks or to see a few films, even as they are having a fairly short fling together. Doesn't this time together help build toward the later passion? Doesn't this help with communication?

Interesting that complaints of censorship should crop up on a site like this one.
Apparently Senior Sizzle doesn't like it when it is questioned. Let's see how long this post lasts.
I had never witnessed any direct censorship here until recently. (Yes, I have seen a variety of posts for months on this.) Several men had posted on a discussion board where I am active (Ivory Men for Ebony Women) and they were complaining strongly about Senior Sizzle as a sham.
Usually I'll try to add a positive spin to these discussions, by noting the more than 10:1 ratio of men to women, the need for patience and persistance, or some question about how involved they have been with the site. Although my post went through... within a day the entire short discussion was gone.
So maybe folks here can relate their experiences. Does this happen a lot? If Senior Sizzle is so bad, then where can you find a better site? How long should men expect to wait before connecting? Any tips?

Can You Market Desire?

Because you are reading this on Senior Sizzle you are probably nodding affirmatively.
But what I'm talking about is the self-marketing/self-promotion that goes on here.
Is it better to be straight-forward about desires? Or should marketing be involved?
You can make up your own mind. I know what I'm being told though and the suggestions don't sit well with me.
The suggestions have come from some of the self-appointed Net Nannies who frequent this site and who have no interest in sex. Many of them will freely tell you they have a man and they are just here for their own jolly reasons. (I suspect they are control freaks but perhaps that is a different post.)
Before I go too far down this road, I want to be clear. There are good people here (both female and male) and many have given me good advice since I landed here in this strange country of virtual sex. (More accurately: a virtual convention for sex chat.) Some women have given me positive feedback about my posts, profile and other writing.
But others are offended.
They are offended by the directness of my desires.
The Net Nannies would have me rewrite my profile into something I could read in the newspaper personals: something that discusses long walks, sunsets, and trips to the movies. Don't get me wrong. I have a passion for films. And of course I'd be willing to go on an informal date with someone I meet here with no expectations for that meeting other than to get a sense of the other person. But I think we should all be adult and realize the purpose of many of us being here and many of us meeting is that we want it to lead somewhere else. Destination: SEX.
And that desire is offensive to some here.
Besides the offense at this directness, some have suggested I tailor my desires to fit a particular type of woman. They think I'm confused. "You like women of all colors," I've been told, "but you should choose one shade of the rainbow." I also like young women and middle aged women. I also like large women and slim women. (Yes, I do have particular tastes in what I like in a woman's face, what I like in her mind, and how her overall build works, but those are all very complicated aesthetic features that don't fit neatly on a form.)
Is it so wrong to like many types of women? I have had experience with many types and I have come to like a variety for the different talents and physical attributes that they can bring to the bedroom (or another location). Is it so wrong to worship, adore and desire a variety of looks? Some here accuse me of feeling like any woman will do. Those folks aren't reading closely.
Sure, it isn't good direct marketing, but my libido isn't always manipulated in the obvious ways. I think I'm sticking with the fact that I love the way women look, feel, smell, and taste. (And of course the sound of a woman's pleasure cannot be beat.) And I like the way many different women delight my senses. That is never going to change.
I stood high by the mountain tops/ Naked to the world/ In front of/ Every kind of girl/ There was long one's tall ones, short ones, brown ones/ Black ones, round ones, big ones....
War "Spill the Wine"
(I had trouble with the original posting. I think the blog software on the site is still a bit buggy. So I am reposting this.)

The Existential Question
|
Posted:Mar 23, 2005 3:02 pm
Last Updated:Jun 7, 2008 3:18 pm

|
Why am I here?
Folks who read this may not care. However, I have certain motivations.
Perhaps I feel like any adventure needs a record or notes. That's just the writer in me. Of course, these notes may end up being a cross between diary, booze-induced confessional to a bartender, or off-the-cuff responses to those who may wander across these musings. One of the motivations is just to get words out on the page about this.
Yes, there are larger questions, beyond why contribute to this section of the website. The question may linger about what brought me here in the first place.
Without getting too detailed in a semi-public place, there is a void to deal with in my life. I have read the postings here by folks who say, "if you aren't getting sex then just get a divorce." Well, that is my choice to make and I am not traveling that road. I don't think I have to justify my decisions to those who are here merely to impose their beliefs on others. I am here for the same reason many come to this website. This website is marketed as a place to meet for sexual liaisons. That is the primary reason I am here. And I don't think people who have come here need to apologize for that decision to others in this virtual community.
Sex is a wonderful gift.
I sometimes think Descartes got it wrong. It should be: I have sex therefore I am.
So I have started to doubt my identity a bit perhaps for the lack of one of life's true gifts. As someone in mid-life, I also wonder what I am missing.
Of course, I am not opposed to discourse on the way to intercourse. But I do not think the primary reason I am here is for chatting. I do like chatting with a friend, a partner, and a lover. I also like establishing relationships. But I would like a new relationship that provides some answer to the void without being too complicated and complex.
Some have asked me in e-mail: are women therefore disposable? Of course not. I see some women here who are happy being single or married and only want something on the side to also answer their sexual void. I'm hoping I can meet up and match up with one. Do I mind building up to that intimate relationship with lunch, chats, drinks and other dating activities. Of course not. I see establishing some bond as important to the passion that follows.
And so the point is often made that there really is no such thing as a "no strings" relationship. Perhaps that is correct. But I do think people can establish the boundaries for what they want in a relationship, even if that is merely a sexual relationship. Relationships do evolve and so opening up intimacy does hold the danger of creating problems later for all involved.
Perhaps, as I've seen some women write on this website, that this is all fantasy or just a theoretical premise that these purely sexual relationships can exist. After being here for about two months, I have thought that maybe they are correct. We are about to see.
